Travel Packing Planner:

In addition to your ordinary packing, use this as a reference of last-minute, sometimes, forgotten items.
While the idea is not to weigh down your luggage or take an extra carry-on, do keep in mind that if you pack one bag or an area of one bag with your "emergency stash", it will make unpacking a little easier!  This reminder packing list suggests products for families with children. Consider your destination, the weather, the time you will be away from home and if you can purchase any of these products at your destination.

Consider this checklist for family vacation destinations:

What kind of activities are there for kids to do. Check by ages.
Are there special child-friendly restauratns in the area or hotel menus with choices your child likes.
How far is your destination from the local airport?
If traveling by car, is your car in good shape, are the tires filled?
Are there shuttles to/from your hotel?
How far will you be from historic or recreation sites?
If staying in a hotel, are there special units, rooms or decor for families?
Is there a refrigerator in your hotel room for snacks and cold milk for kids?
Are there any special amenities for families or children?
Is there at least one dining facility on-site?
Does the hotel provide a safe crib- ask for the brand name and then check recalls.gov to check current recalls before you leave
