A guided tour through TOYLAND
September 27, 1993|
It’s got to be tough to come up with new toys that keep kids playing and parents buying year after year. By now, you would think that everything has been done at least a few times.
But at the 90th Annual American International Toy Fair this year, 22,000 buyers from 87 countries came to New York to view about 6,000 new toys and 120,000 already on the market. It was hard enough for the professional buyers to wade through the dolls, games, puzzles, activity toys and toys in general, but it would have been no end of confusion for any regular adult. Some of us are dazed after five minutes in a toy store.
